In this Module, the mastery of clinical reasoning will take a meta-leap into the skill of intuitive clinical reasoning and assessment.
Mastery in the sense that we use it pertains to a state of continuously not knowing, It is NOT a title that infers the heroic role of unimpeachable-omnipotent expert that lords it over all their inferiors – in fact the opposite is true for JENT practitioners.
The more you know, the more you know you don’t know as mastery is a continuous process of ‘mastering and then going back to zero’. Not a state or title.
Sure some things appear evident once you Master the basics and can see more and more of the subtle signs that lead you to understand the non-linear fluid dynamics that make up the anatomy and physiology of all biological systems.
IN reality, it usually does not bide well to intervene from ‘up-high’, believing that ‘you can predict the results of an intervention with certainty’ (Schliep 2010).
In fact the uncertainty principle lays the foundation of the ‘JENT Master Bodyworkers clinical skills. They need to operate from a place where they can think clearly despite the ambiguity and can live with and ‘hold a paradox’ in which most things appear to be right and wrong at the same time.
A JENT Master Bodyworker needs to assume a more humble role of ‘facilitator’ in which they use their intuition, guided by curiosity, evidence and facts, to investigate and correct a cause within the context of the case they are considering.
The term intuition here is used in the context of ‘the immediate and automatic appraisal of the truth of the moment’.
As every single horse presents with a new set of circumstances and problems, nothing is what it seems. So the JENT Master Bodyworker invites the horse to participate and communicate as a willing volunteer in the process of their own rehabilitation.
They manner in which to create that will be discussed, demonstrated and integrated into your own clinical style or manner.
