Learn Horse Owners Equine Bodywork from Di Jenkins, Master JENT Bodyworker & International Performance Therapist.

Take home new skills to assist in keeping your horse sound!

The focus of this one day training is on learning to assess a horse and to gain practical experience in effective acupressure/red light and the first massage technique to assist in maintaining comfort, health and soundness. The day includes watching images on a screen then live demonstration of what to look for and how to apply the Bodywork, then practical assessment of the horses and teaching of the relief techniques.

This is a jam packed day full of update information to detect low grade discomfort and pain horses carry. Learn how to tell if your horse is developing an issue before it causes resistant behaviour, deterioration of movement and lameness.

During the training day you learn to:

  • Assess important skeletal & muscular symmetry
  • Understand some conformation can change with bodywork and some cannot
  • Assess preferred postures that are signs of discomfort and pain
  • Range of Motion (ROM) tests on the forelimb to assess carpal joints (knees), fetlocks & coffin joints
  • Test reflex responses on acupoints which indicate knee and hock pain
  • Palpate the back muscles to assess acute and chronic pain
  • Open the Bladder Energy Channel to relax the horse and ‘read’ the body
  • Apply acupressure and Red Light stimulation to acupoints for pain, maintenance and other issues
  • Massage the tight areas with a basic technique all horses like
  • Understand the science of Photonic Red Light for acupoint stimulation and wound healing.
