About Di Jenkins

Dianne Jenkins is a passionate and highly successful equine performance specialist. She can achieve outstanding and sustainable results due to the incredible amount of training she has undertaken and experience derived from professionally working on over ten thousand horses. Her success also draws on more than 40 years of experience as a breeder, trainer, competitor, judge and nationally accredited instructor.

Her life’s journey has led to the discovery of several key areas of the equine body that incur and accumulate seemingly minor injuries which incrementally cause low grade chronic pain. Horses react to this with various changes of behaviour, gradually deteriorating form and posture, and maladaptive changes to muscular symmetry.  These in turn create unevenness and joint tension that inevitably leads to a decline in performance, lameness and early retirement.

In response, Dianne developed an unparalleled therapeutic approach now called JENT (Jenkins Equine Neurophysiologic Therapy). Since 1995 Di has worked tirelessly with a hands-on approach to refine JENT with research, training and state of the art technology.

In 2008, Dianne presented JENT to the International Society of Equitation Science (ISES) in Dublin Ireland. (see: JENT > Presentations >ISES Abstract & Transcriptwhich led to a demand outside Australia for her work and seminars.  She now regularly travels to teach and work in Ireland, UK, USA, NZ and Canada.

Dianne works on all levels of performance horses in many disciplines.  She takes commissions to visit many parts of the world to work on horses and teaches JENT and Photonic Red Light Therapy.  She has recently returned from France after preparing the horses and accompanying the Australian 4-in-hand Carriage Driving Teams to the World Equestrian Games.

Before becoming an equine performance specialist Dianne owned and directed the Blackwood Park Equestrian Centre in East Gippsland, Victoria. Blackwood Park was a rider and horse training facility, agistment property and breeding stud.  For 27 years Dianne honed her skills to become an accomplished and accredited Instructor in all disciplines and also as a dressage and jumping equitation Judge.

From this total immersion within the horse industry she developed a deep understanding of the physiological, physical, social and emotional needs of horses which when addressed therapeutically as a system of interconnected parts, optimises horse health, condition and performance, and most importantly, their well-being and longevity.

Dianne’s exceptionally keen observation and gait analysis skills have refined that rare ability to detect the often elusive antecedents to unevenness and lameness. When identifying these first subtle indicators she offers trainers-owners-riders a comprehensive analysis and explanation of the holistic condition of the horse. The corrective JENT process and the following after session exercise program achieves sustainable results unless pathology is already present or comes to light.  If damage is present Dianne then includes the latest technologies in rapid healing and discusses what other management may be needed to assist. She refers on to veterinarians, farriers and other health care professionals when appropriate.

Dianne is a world-class leader and pioneer in the field of equine performance. Her impassioned efforts offer to take all equine enthusiasts to a new level of understanding in optimising their horses’ athleticism, potential, natural hardiness and well-being.

Dianne has now returned from 6 months residing in the UK and Ireland and lives on a property in Sutton NSW, just north of Canberra in Australia.  When home, she works on horses locally and writes to share her deep knowledge, love of learning and masterful expertise with like-minded equine professionals, owners & horse enthusiasts. Her optimism and irrepressible energy make this possible.

Sometimes she sleeps.
