Freedom & Fluidity
This is a crucial factor in JENT interventions.
The selection of the correct saddle is essential to maintain fluidity of movement and allow the horse full freedom to move into their stride.
The main point is that when we get the body and postural mechanics right, the saddle has to fit as perfectly as possible.
One size DOES NOT fit all – as the horse changes – even subtly – so must the saddle.
Basic saddle suitability is checked at the second JENT session to ensure the saddle used will not cause any new issues and be suitable to take into effect the expected changes to the symmetry and size of the withers / shoulders as they resume their natural posture and size.
We evaluate the size, balance, width of gullet plate and channel, placement of the girth attachment and panel evenness.
A specialised saddle fit tool called the ‘Flexible Symmetry Gauge’ is used to measure the profile and determine symmetry of the wither pockets.
If the horse is significantly asymmetrical over the weight bearing areas of the back, JENT comfort foam can be provided and fitted at a ridden saddle fit session to ensure level support of the saddle and rider until the muscles of the back redevelop.
Ridden saddle fit assessments are much more in depth and conducted as separate appointments.
